Podcast: Previewing An Intriguing Sixers Draft With Derek Bodner

By Matt Leon

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The 2015 NBA Draft is here and has been the case for the 76ers the last few years, it is a big night for the organization.

The 76ers currently sit with the #3 pick in the first round. They also have five picks in the second round (#35, #37, #47, #58 and #60). Minnesota holds the #1 overall selection with the Lakers sitting at #2.

The name connected the most with the 76ers at #3 is 6-5 Ohio State guard D'Angelo Russell who averaged 19.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5.0 assists as a freshman this past season for the Buckeyes.

Jahlil Okafor is another name you hear a lot. While most expect the big man out of Duke to go at #2, there is growing sentiment that Russell could be LA's pick at #2, meaning Okafor could be there at #3. As a freshman for the Blue Devils, the 6-11 Okafor averaged 17.3 ppg while shooting 66% from the field and pulling down 8.5 rebounds a game.

Some other names that could be in play for the 76ers are guard Emmanuel Mudiay, who played this past season in China or Kristaps Porzingis, a big man from Latvia.

Of course with GM Sam Hinkie and six draft picks, a trade is always possible, so it should be a very entertaining night one way or the other.

KYW's Matt Leon spoke with Derek Bodner of DraftExpress and USA Today about what directions the 76ers could go in tonight.
