Philadelphia District Attorney Issues Warrants For Three City Election Officials

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- On Wednesday, Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams issued warrants for three city election officials in connection to voter fraud.

The three individuals are charged with election fraud and related charges for incidents that took place during the 2014 and 2015 primary elections.

The officials charged are Robin Trainor, Cheryl Ali and Laura Murtaugh.

Trainor faces charges of forgery, tampering with public records or information, conspiracy, repeat voting, interference with primaries and elections, fraud and unlawful assistance in voting among other related charges.

Murtaugh faces charges interference with primaries and elections, fraud, conspiracy, fraud by elections officers and failure to perform duty.

Ali faces charges of forgery, tampering with public records or information, repeat voting, and qualifications of election officers.

"I continue to be outraged that our election officials, after they clearly know the rules, think that they can just walk into the voting booth and vote multiple times or vote as someone else," said Williams on Wednesday. "What these three have done is clearly a crime and will be prosecuted. I hope that their wrongdoing reminds everyone who is entrusted with putting on and protecting our elections that my Election Fraud Task Force is real and will continue to find and arrest people who break our election laws."

All three officials turned themselves in on Wednesday.
