Community Tips Reportedly Help Shut Down Brothel In Camden

CAMDEN, NJ (CBS) – Police in Camden are crediting community tips with the takedown of a brothel in the city's Dudley neighborhood.

"Concerned residents" reportedly alerted police to a possible brothel at 127 N 25 Street.

After several weeks of surveillance, police executed a search warrant around 10 a.m. on Wednesday.

Two suspects, 39-year-old Roberto Lemuz, of Camden, and 39-year-old Esteban Alcemon, of New York City, were arrested for third-degree promoting prostitution.

Both men, authorities say, were in the U.S. illegally and face deportation.

Two New York City women in their 40s reportedly acknowledged working as prostitutes at the house and were provided assistance.
