Burlington County College And Rowan U. Team Up To Make Tuition More Affordable

By Paul Kurtz

PEMBERTON, NJ (CBS) -- Burlington County College and Rowan University have formed a partnership designed to streamline the transfer process and make tuition more affordable.

Burlington County College has changed its name to Rowan College of Burlington County, but school President Paul Drayton says the bigger change is the way in which students will be able to earn their bachelor's degree from Rowan.

"That individual could come here for their first two years and then continue to take classes provided by Rowan University provided on site or online, and the total cost for their four year degree would be 30 thousand dollars."

Eighty-five-hundred bucks for the first two years and a 15 percent tuition discount for years three and four.

It's not mandatory, but Drayton believes it's the best option.

"If you're able to say to that student your engineering degree will cost you 30 thousand dollars, that's a big deal. That's a game changer."
