Economist Lends His Expertise To NJBIA In Helping Shape The Group's Public Policy Agenda

By David Madden

TRENTON, NJ (CBS) -- New Jersey's top business lobbying organization has hired a new chief economic advisor to help them independently assess the business climate in the Garden State.

If you listen to us on a regular basis, you've undoubtedly heard Joel Naroff's business commentaries. He'll continue in that role as he now provides his expertise to the New Jersey Business and Industry Association.

"They wanted an independent analyst. They wanted somebody who everybody knows is going to give their point of view."

He'll do quarterly reports and monthly updates, which will be used to help shape public policy debate from a business perspective. The association is also bringing on Econsult Solutions, which will assist in producing the raw data that Naroff will then review.

Their first project, a look at key factors driving the cost of doing business in New Jersey.
