Phila. Non-Profit That Helps Women In Transition Get Career Ready Is Now Expanding

By Cherri Gregg

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia non-profit that helps women transition back into the workplace is expanding its services.

"The number one thing I have people ask me is why aren't you doing this for me."

Sheri Cole is executive director of Career Wardrobe, a non-profit that provides professional development and clothing to women in transition. For the past 20 years it's been all about the ladies, but next year they'll also help men through their Make It Work pilot program.

"We'll be working with partners who work with me who are largely coming out of the incarceration system or coming out from drug and alcohol treatment centers."

Now in addition to women's professional clothing, they're accepting shirts and ties for men. And when they expand their facility at 19th and Spring Garden this fall, they'll begin accepting men's suits, pants and shoes.

"There's no reason why we can't serve as many unemployed individuals as possible."
