Porter's Hot Takes: June 5th, 2015

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- This week I decided to bring you my hot takes on the stories of the week, most sports and some non-sports, whether you like it or not.

So, I'm going to internet yell about LeSean McCoy, the NBA Finals, Sam Bradford, and the Entourage movie.

Listen: Andrew Porter on the Pulse of Philly podcast

LeSean McCoy refused to answer Chip Kelly racial questions

I've never seen a guy go from beloved in this town to hated, so quickly, and deservedly so. The irony in all of this, is McCoy is simply proving to the world why Kelly wouldn't want him on his football team. He's an immature, selfish, coward.

Poetically enough, the Bills and McCoy come to Philly on December 13th (Week 14). We can only hope McCoy is healthy and plays in that game, because man, the boos will be loud.

Ps - Credit to the Bills' reporters for challenging McCoy, but I would have kept going. Let him walk out of the interview if he pleases, that's an even better story in itself.

LeBron goes for 44, Cavs still lose in OT of game 1

OAKLAND, CA - JUNE 4: LeBron James #23 of the Cleveland Cavaliers shoots against Andre Iguodala #9 of the Golden State Warriors during Game One of the 2015 NBA Finals on June 4, 2015 at Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. The writing is on the wall here: The Cavs just aren't good enough to beat the Warriors.

LeBron has 44, Kyrie Irving actually looks healthy---until he got hurt again---and goes for 23 points, seven boards, six assists, and four steals, Tristan Thompson snags 15 boards, Steph Curry and Clay Thompson collectively shoot 5-15 from three and Cleveland still losses! You would have called me crazy if I told you that before the game started.

When LeBron doesn't want to shoot 38 times. That's not his game. He's not a volume scorer, but he has no choice. No one else on his team can create their own shot, except for Irving, who is now hobbled again.

As for the folks criticizing LeBron for fading away during his final shot in regulation---you.are.nuts. If he could just drive to the hoop and dunk it every single time he would be Superman. Give some credit to Iggy for good defense.

My heart wants LeBron and the Cavs, but this smells like Golden State in 5 (especially with Irving potentially out).

Study shows why Sam Bradford is a "vast" improvement for Eagles

I don't get the Sam Bradford hate.

Cam Newton just signed a five year deal worth $103 million ($60 million guaranteed). How do I feel about that? LOL Carolina, that's how I feel. But I digress.

In 2015 Chip Kelly and the Eagles were facing Nick Foles entering the final year of his contract. Let's be honest, no matter what Foles would have done this season in Philly, he isn't worth a long-term QB deal. He's simply not good enough. So instead, Kelly rolled the dice with a former number one overall pick in Bradford, who is exponentially more talented. Is he injury-prone? Certainly, but that's the only reason the Rams even considered giving up on him.

From CBSPhilly.com: "Bradford, who missed the 2014 with an ACL injury, had a BDR (bad decision rate) of 0.7 percent in 2013. In 2012, it was still a decent 1.7 percent. In comparison, with Foles and Mark Sanchez, the Eagles had a BDR of 2.6 percent resulting in a league-high 21 interceptions."

Mark Sanchez went to the AFC Championship game three times. Trent Dilfer won a Super Bowl. Bradford doesn't need to be Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers, he just needs to be good enough. This Eagles team is talented enough to compete for a Super Bowl, don't kid yourself. Vegas has them with the seventh shortest Super Bowls odds in the NFL (20/1) and they believe in themselves.

Entourage Movie

Mark Wahlberg
Actress arrives at the Los Angeles Premiere "Entourage" at Regency Village Theatre on June 1, 2015 in Westwood, California.

Critics are crushing it (32-percent on Rotten Tomatoes), while fans are loving it (83-percent on Rotten Tomatoes). If you loved the show (like myself), you'll love the movie. If you've never seen the show, go see the movie, then you have eight seasons waiting for you. If you hate the show, then you're a mope.

It's pretty much an extended episode with a ridiculous amount of cameos, better-than-usual acting, admittedly a semi-lazy storyline, outstanding jokes, plenty of naked girls (google Sabina Gadecki right now---she's E's love interest and Kevin Connolly's girlfriend in real life), and just a fun time.

Kevin Dillon and Jeremy Piven were excellent as expected, but I thought Connolly was sneaky good---especially in my favorite scene of the movie where he was being tricked at the restaurant by two girls (Connolly was perfectly awkward).

Best cameos (in order): Kelsey Grammer, T.I., Rob Gronkowski

Worst cameo (not even close): Russell Wilson---Wilson is close friends with writer and director Doug Ellin. I assume his lines were forced. Wilson was awful and awkward.

I don't get the Ronda Rousey love? Is it just me?

FYI: If you're an obsessed Entourage fan (cough, cough), check out Jerry Ferrara's Bad 4 Business podcast. Gives you a ton of inside insight to the series and movie.
