Minimum Wage Increase Goes Into Effect In Del. On Monday

WILMINGTON, Del. (CBS) – A minimum wage increase is taking effect for workers in Delaware.

The new rate is $8.25 an hour.

The increase is the second stage of a two-step increase in the hourly rate approved by lawmakers last year.

There's another bill in the works to increase the minimum wage to $10.25 an hour by 2019.

Lawmakers are expected to take up that bill in January.
