Philadelphia Ranked One Of The Top Food Cities; Food Scene Called 'Diverse, Fascinating'

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – File this under amazing: The City of Brotherly Love has just been recognized yet again for its fantastic food scene.

According to Thrillist, Philadelphia is the ninth best food city in the country – out of 40!

"That's right. Philly is a very, very good city for eats," Thrillist writes, before calling the cuisine scene "diverse, fascinating, and, all too often, entirely overlooked."

Federal Donuts, PYT, Vetri, Jose Garces and Michael Solomonov are also mentioned in the short blurb, along with the old standbys, Pat's and Geno's.

And while there are a couple digs at our occasionally not-so-friendly sports fans, the write-up does a pretty good job of covering some of the best eats in the city.

So, what city came in first place? Surprisingly, Thrillist picked New Orleans, dropping predictable pick New York in the number two spot.
