PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — The bridge that connects Sea Isle City and Avalon will remain closed for Memorial Day Weekend, according to officials.

The Townsend’s Inlet Bridge will be locked in the up position, allowing boats to pass through the navigation span of the bridge.

Renovations on the bridge are behind schedule, according to Cape May County officials.

Officials say the bridge is not expected to be opened to vehicular traffic for at least another two to three weeks.
