PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Today we are going to talk about a very difficult and personal issue but one that is becoming more significant as baby boomers are aging.
Just when do you ask a parent to give up the keys to the car and stop driving? And – just when do you face the decision yourself? It is a tough decision.
Think about the excitement the first time you took the wheel and the freedom that it provided. Now – think about losing that privilege. The conversation will be tough but there are key warning signs:
– Getting several traffic tickets or warnings.
– Having accidents, fender benders and close calls in increasing numbers.
– Getting lost.
– Slowed reaction times.
I know it may be far easier to avoid this talk but you have to think about the safety of all.
Nevertheless, it doesn’t help reduce the disappointment.
