New Jersey Man Sentenced To 27 Years For Crash That Killed Two Women
CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) -- A southern New Jersey man has been sentenced to 27 years in prison for causing a fatal head-on crash that killed a woman and her daughter two years ago.
Camden County prosecutors say 33-year-old Keith Johnson, of Pennsauken, had "significant levels'' of PCP in his system and was traveling between 70 and 100 mph in a 25-mph zone when the crash occurred in Merchantville. He had pleaded guilty in March to two counts of aggravated manslaughter and one count of assault by auto.
Johnson's sport utility vehicle struck a minivan driven by 36-year-old Anaida Medina. She and her 18-year-old daughter, Stephanie Garcia, both of Cherry Hill, were killed in the crash.
A Pennsauken woman riding in Johnson's vehicle suffered serious injuries in the crash, but has since recovered.
