Delaware Man Accused Of Using Molotov Cocktail In Attempt To Torch Home

ELSMERE, Del. (CBS) -- A Delaware man is facing charges after investigators allege he attempted to torch a home using a Molotov cocktail.

Dewane Stevenson, 32, turned himself into the New Castle County Police Department Thursday morning.

According to police, the Elsmere Police Department responded to the 100 block of Washington Street in the Oak Grove section of Elsmere at about 4 p.m. Wednesday.

It was determined that a male suspect threw a Molotov cocktail into the first floor of a home, causing damage to the interior of the structure.

A female was inside the home at the time. There were no reported injuries.

After an investigation, criminal warrants were issued for Stevenson. Police say Stevenson turned himself into police Thursday morning.

He is facing charges of Arson, Reckless Endangering and use of a Molotov Cocktail.

He is being held on $36,000 secured bond.
