Local Sporting Goods Store Offers NFL Jersey Insurance

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The dilemma for any sports fan when it comes to buying current player jerseys is will that player stay on the team for a reasonable amount of time. Eagles fans have had to deal with the reality of losing a player from the team after investing in their jersey. There were a lot of LeSean McCoy, Nick Foles, Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson jerseys in the stands the last few years, but all of those guys are now gone.
To address this situation, Schuylkill Valley Sports is now offering Jersey Insurance to protect fans a little bit so they can feel more comfortable buying the jerseys of the newest members of the Eagles.
According to the store website, fans will be able to purchase a new NFL jersey of equal or lesser value at 50% off the current retail price of the jersey if the player of the jersey originally purchased is traded or released.
The cost of the jersey insurance is $10 and is valid for 18 months from the date of purchase. You as the customer will also be able to keep the original jersey you purchased and the insurance only applies to current players that are not injured at the time of purchase.
Now you have a safety net if you decide to purchase a jersey of one of Chip Kelly's players. While you may think that a particular player is untouchable, you never know what Kelly might be thinking.
