Reports: Chip Kelly Going After Marcus Mariota

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Finally. The NFL Draft is here.

Now, just about 12 hours away, the speculation linking Marcus Mariota to the Eagles is hotter than ever.

A league source tells ProFootballTalk.com that the Eagles are "doing all they can" to move up from No. 20.

"Presumably, they're trying to get to No. 2, via a trade with the Titans," says Mike Florio on PFT. "The persistent interest the Browns have in Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford coupled with Cleveland's pair of first-round picks could allow the Eagles to pull this off without giving up too much."

Wait, there's more!

SI.com's Peter King agrees writing, "I believe Kelly will make a series effort to acquire Mariota."

King, however, ultimately feels the Titans will take Mariota.

"I've been wrong far, far more often than I've been right in my draft history," King wrote. "But I think the Titans are more likely to take Mariota than to trade him, because the options for them at quarterback are just not good enough for a team looking toward the future."

The NFL Draft kicks off tonight at 8 p.m. E.T., when all the drama will be settled.
