Wallet Of Man Working Out At Northeast Philly Gym Stolen; Card Used At Nearby Store

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police are searching for the suspect who stole the wallet of a man working out at a gym in Northeast Philadelphia and then used his cards to make a purchase at a nearby store.

The theft happened on April 15th at the Planet Fitness in the 500 block of Adams Avenue.

According to investigators, while the victim was working out at the gym, the suspect stole his wallet and other personal items from his locker.

When the victim noticed his wallet was stolen, he called his bank to cancel his cards, but he was told they were used at a Rite Aid located at 5694 Rising Sun Avenue.

Surveillance video captured the suspect leaving the locker room and then using the card at the Rite Aid. He left the scene in a gray SUV.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'8", with a medium build. He was wearing a gray jacket with white sleeves and a black stripe across the chest and sleeves, blue jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with information on the suspect is urged to contact police.
