PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — A construction worker was injured after he became trapped in a trench in Northeast Philadelphia Thursday morning.

According to authorities, the 49-year-old man was working inside the trench when dirt caved in, trapping him.
Emergency crews responded to the scene and worked to free the man. He was eventually freed and taken to Aria Health Torresdale Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

The type of construction project is unknown at this time.
Representatives with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are involved in the investigation.
