“Philadelphia Futures works with low-income, first-generation-to-college students, in an effort to prepare them to be ready to enter and succeed in college,” explains Executive Director Joan Mazzotti.

Mazzotti says Ruiz will host the fundraiser at the new South Bowl:

“We met with ‘Chooch’ about a week ago to talk about the event, and he assured me that all his friends are coming.”

Mazzotti says more than 500 people are expected at the sold-out event:

“Guests will have an opportunity to enter into tournaments playing with the Phillies and other team captains. We will also have a red carpet entrance and a number of activities within the venue.”

Tonight’s event is expected to raise $175,000 for college guidance and academic enrichment programs.
