Beasley Reece: NFL Favors Eagles, 'Best Schedule I've Ever Seen'

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Many people are excited about the favorable Eagles' 2015 schedule.

And then, there's CBS 3 Sports Director and former NFL defensive back Beasley Reece, who took it one step further.

"It's the best schedule I've ever seen," Reece told Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show on Wednesday. "First of all, people don't consider travel. You know how many people you are moving around the country? Well, in 2014 they traveled 17,530 miles. This year the longest trip is Dallas! It's crazy! This is unbelievable how much rest, and how much they will keep to their routine, and jet lag is not an issue.

"And let's say they're in the mix," Reese continued. "If they're in the mix, get off to a good start, the bye Week comes right in the middle! Perfect! So let's say they got a shot down the stretch. Three of the last four teams are at home!"

In fact, the Eagles' schedule is so favorable, Reece speculated that maybe the NFL wants Chip Kelly and the Eagles in the playoffs.

"I mean it's like the NFL is trying, is cheating," Reece joked. "It's like they're trying to put the Eagles---they got one tough situation. Sunday, November 22nd they host the Bucs. Four days later they play a very good Detroit team on Thanksgiving Day. But if you get through that, they have nine days rest before they play the reigning champions. It's like the NFL said let's set the Eagles schedule and then do the other 255 games."
