PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Furious 7 remains furiously popular at multiplexes.
The seventh installment in The Fast and the Furious franchise earned an estimated $61-million on its second weekend of release, giving it another runaway first-place finish.
The animated holdover, Home, remained the runner-up, with a total of $19-million.
The new romantic drama, The Longest Ride, based on a Nicholas Sparks novel, debuted in third place with $ 14-million.
Holdovers Get Hard and Cinderella rounded out the top five with $9-million and $7-million, respectively.
Industry-wide totals were just below those of a year ago, with two more relatively slow weekends expected before the Avengers sequel kicks off the summer movie season on May 1st.
