PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate suspects wanted in connection with an attack on a man at a gas station in Philadelphia’s Olney neighborhood.
Police say the incident was reported at about 6:51 p.m. Tuesday at the 5500 block of North 5th Street.
When officers arrived, police say they found a 51-year-old man lying on the ground bleeding from his head. He was taken to the hospital where police say he was treated for head injuries and is listed in critical condition.
According to police, surveillance video recovered depicted a group of males and females allegedly exiting a gray minivan with a hammer, mace, and a piece of wood assaulting the man repeatedly then fleeing the area.
A short time later, investigators say police saw a silver Honda Odyssey in the parking lot of Einstein Hospital with two females inside. Police say they were taken into custody and both are facing the following charges: attempted murder, aggravated assault, PIC (Possessing instruments of crime), simple assault, and REAP (recklessly endangering another person).
Police say other suspects are still being sought.
