Local High School Student Gets Ready For Prom On Plane After Delayed Flight

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A delayed flight Friday forced a local high school student to start her trip to the prom – 30,000 feet in the air!

Hailey McDevitt and her classmates were returning from a school trip to Spain.

Their 1 p.m. flight was delayed until 6 p.m., so she started getting ready on the plane.

Once they landed, Hailey's family and friends helped put on the finishing touches inside the airport restroom.

She spoke to CBS 3 Eyewitness News about her whirlwind day.

"Very hectic, cried a few times, had to do my hair and makeup in the airport and buy a lot of things for it, very hectic," she said.

Hailey and her date were able to make it to the big dance.
