Child Struck By Police Cruiser In Mayfair

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Authorities say a four-year-old boy suffered minor injuries after he was struck by a police vehicle in Philadelphia's Mayfair neighborhood.

It happened just before 8 p.m. Friday in the 6300 block of Leonard Street.

Police say a police cruiser was slowly passing a double parked car when a 4-year-old boy darted out from between two parked cars and ran into the driver's side front fender.

The boy was knocked to the ground and taken to St. Christopher's Hospital where he was treated for road rash on his face.
