TSA To Keep Nearly $675K In Unclaimed Change
WASHINGTON, DC (CBS) – All those quarters, dimes and other coins left behind by travelers at airport security checkpoints added up to a big payday for the TSA.
A new report reveals airline passengers left behind nearly $675,000 last year.
The year before that, it was about $640,000.
A TSA spokesman says the unclaimed change is turned into the financial office.
In 2005, Congress gave the agency the power to use the money to help fund its operations.
