Party At Former Car Dealership In South Jersey Turns Deadly

HADDON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- Three people were shot, one fatally, during a birthday party in South Jersey late Sunday night.

Police received calls around 11:30 p.m. for shots fired in the 2800 block of Crescent Boulevard in Haddon Township.

According to investigators, a birthday party was taking place at the Rooftop Lounge, which is located at the site of a former car dealership.

Police say towards the end of the party, three people were shot in the parking lot outside of the building.

According to police, an 18-year-old male, identified by investigators as Tyimer Q. Bright, was shot multiples times and was rushed to Cooper University Hospital. Bright was pronounced dead at about 3:25 a.m.

A 17-year-old female was shot and remains in stable condition. A 16-year-old female suffered a graze wound and was released from the hospital.

It was not immediately known if there were one or multiple shooters.

"Hold these people accountable for what they do. They were brave and bold enough to pick up a gun, they should be man enough to stand now for these charges," says Tyimer's mother Tracey Bright.

Authorities say approximately 50 to 60 people were in attendance at the party.

So far, no arrests have been made and a motive remains unknown.

"Please contact the police, prosecutor's office, anybody just tell what you know please," says grandmother Maureen Bright.

"He had a baby on the way and his main goal was he wanted to fix his life up for his baby," adds his aunt Charmaine Bright.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Camden County Prosecutor's Office Detective Michael Rhoads at 856-225-8561, Haddon Township Police Detective Don Quinn at 856-833-6208 or Camden County Police Detective Edward Gonzalez at 856-757-7420.
