WEATHER: Flying Eggs

By Carol Erickson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Range free, humane certified, organic (or, even better, plastic), Easter eggs flew through the air like drones on Saturday as winds gusted past 40 mph.

The hardboiled, dyed beauties left their hiding places on the ground to join a sky full of all sorts of stuff – lawn chairs, garbage cans, wigs, weaves, and hats with built in braids.

The Northwesterly gusts chased a cold front out of town, bringing temperatures on Saturday to the mid 50's. As people tried on the hair extensions blown off the heads of strangers and picked up the neighbors' trash cans (and kept the ones in decent shape), they wondered aloud why we can never just get a nice day that doesn't have some extreme weather feature to it.

The wondering stopped as soon as the adults raided the kids' Easter baskets on Sunday in 62 degree temperatures and decided this is a pretty good weekend after all.
