Cast Members From Stage Musical Dirty Dancing Teach Dance Class At Local High School

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- High school students in the dance department of Philadelphia's Creative and Performing Arts High School were treated to a special master class Thursday afternoon.

Dancers at Philadelphia's High School for Creative and Performing Arts learned "Dirty Dancing" scenes from cast members currently performing in the musical, now playing at the Academy of Music.

"It's a great experience to be able to dance it out. It's a really good feeling," said Briana Schulke.

"I remember seeing it in the scene, and when I get to do it, it's amazing because they can do it and they're bringing it back to us and we can all experience the feel of it."

"Anytime I can get a Master Class from folks that are out there doing it, I jump at the chance," said school dance director LaDiva Davis.

Schulke says Dirty Dancing is timeless.

(Kuznits:) "Dirty Dancing the movie came out in 1987. You were born in --"

"1997," said Schulke.

(Kuznits:) "So this is way past your time!"

"Yes."

(Kuznits:) "But have you seen the movie?"

"Of course. It's one of my favorites!" said Schulke.
