Devon Still Reports Leah Still's Cancer Is In Remission

By Ray Boyd

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- NFL player Devon Still and his daughter Leah were one of the most amazing stories of the past year. Leah Still went through a battle with cancer as her father continued to play for the Cincinnati Bengals. An outpouring of support from members of the league as well as fans all over the country ensued.

Today, Still shared some amazing news on his Instagram account regarding Leah.

He shared that after 296 days, Leah's doctor has informed the family that her cancer is officially in remission.

"June 2, 2014 and March 25, 2015 are days I will remember for the rest of my life. As everyone probably knows, June 2nd was the day doctors walked into the waiting room to tell me my daughter had cancer. It was the most devastating day of my life. March 25th , however, is feeling like the best day of my life."

Still went on to add that he "is proud and blessed," to call Leah his daughter. He praised and marveled at the determination with which she fought cancer.

Still went on to thank several individuals including the doctors at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where Leah received treatment.

"Thank you to the doctors at CHOP for putting together the best plan of action for my daughter."

This amazing news comes just about a week after Still learned that doctors saw no active disease in Leah's body.

Despite the size and power of her father, Leah has served as the real symbol of perseverance and true strength that transcends that displayed on a football field.
