DeMarco Murray Came To Philadelphia To Win A Super Bowl

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Eagles made it official on Thursday night. The team signed former Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray to a five-year deal. Murray took to the podium to be officially introduced to the fans and he wasted no time endearing himself to Philadelphia.
"I felt this was a great opportunity for me to win a Super Bowl," Murray said when asked why he chose to come to Philadelphia instead of staying with the Cowboys.
Murray explained that Philadelphia did not offer him the most money, but that when he looked around he saw what he identified as his best chance to win a ring. He made it clear that this was not a financial move.
He is clearly intrigued by Chip Kelly and his system.
Murray's signing came just hours after the Eagles introduced running back Ryan Mathews who will team up with Murray in the Eagles backfield. Murray led the NFL in rushing last season as the primary back in Dallas.
In Philadelphia, he will be sharing the load with Mathews and Darren Sproles and Murray is willing to do whatever it takes to make things work.
"Whatever they ask me to do, I'm all for it," Murray told reporters. He explained that his main priority is to win games, not to rack up statistics.
As much as Murray raved about Philadelphia, he also took the time to make it clear that Dallas will always hold a special place in his heart. He thanked the organization, his teammates and the fans and added that he will always have a bond with that place.
There were several posts on social media of Dallas fans reacting harshly to the news, some of which showed the burning of Murray's Cowboys jersey.
Murray acknowledged that he noticed, but is not too worried about it.
"I'm sure their feelings are hurt," Murray said of his fans in Dallas. "I apologize for that. I'm ready to move on."
Murray is ready to move on into a future as the top running back for the Philadelphia Eagles. Who saw that coming?
Actually, that could be said for a lot of what the Eagles have done this off-season.
