Police Search For Answers After Someone Removed Hair From A Miniature Horse--Again

By Kristen Johanson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police in Chester County are looking for someone who cut off the tail and mane of a miniature horse and this is not the first time.

Towamencin Police Chief Paul Dickinson says over the weekend someone removed hair from a miniature horse, named 'Lil' Sammy'.

"Someone entered an unsecure garage in the 2000 block of Mainland Road and cut the mane and the tail of a horse that was housed in the barn."

Owner Samantha Carroll says a similar incident happened in December, when the horse was outside, fenced in. Carroll says it was bizarre to come home and see her horse without hair.

"The hair wasn't anywhere-- not one strand."

Thankfully, Lil' Sammy will be okay, but this summer could be a rough one for her.

"We're not sure what we are going to do with her yet, because her hair isn't going to be long enough, so she is going to be getting bit a lot by the flies."

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
