Flyers Trade Braydon Coburn

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The Philadelphia Flyers have traded defenseman Braydon Coburn to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for defenseman Radko Gudas, and a first- and third-round pick in this year's draft, the team announced on Monday morning.

The Lightning will inherit Coburn's $4.5 million cap hit for next season, as they look to make a run in this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Coburn joined the Flyers via trade during the 2006-07 season. In his nine year tenure in Philly, Coburn played 576 games, scoring 37 goals and 124 assists. This year, he had just one goal, nine points, and was minus-1. He played just 39 games because of twice fracturing his left ankle blocking shots.

Gudas, 24, is currently recovering from right knee surgery and still has one year remaining on his contract. Gudas is physical defenseman that could fit in well in Philadelphia.

The NHL trade deadline is Monday at 3:00 p.m. E.T.
