Fugitive On Montgomery County's Most Wanted List Arrested In Florida

By Brad Segall

NORRISTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- One of the Montgomery County's most wanted fugitives is behind bars in Florida awaiting extradition after sheriff's deputies used social media to track his whereabouts and take him into custody.

Thirty-six-year-old Jason Baldwin is an alleged serial burglar accused of taking part in more than two dozen break-ins in Montgomery, Berks and Chester counties in the summer of 2012. Authorities say he's been on the run for nearly three years, but that ended Thursday when he was arrested in the Orlando area. Sheriff Russell Bono says social media tips led them to his girlfriend.

"They then went to the house where his girlfriend was and made entry, and found Baldwin sleeping in bed," Bono says. "He was totally shocked by the arrest."

Bono says there were five outstanding warrants for his arrest. Baldwin is formerly from Pottstown. According to sheriff's in Osceola County, Baldwin was working at Walt Disney World as a painter under an assumed name.

Authorities are making arrangements to bring him back to Pennsylvania.
