Snow Gives Way To Clouds, Continued Cold

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The snow is beginning to wind down across the Delaware Valley, mainly confined to areas south and east of Philadelphia. Even though it looks like it is falling in a widespread capacity, much of it is struggling to reach the ground.

The only significant accumulations will ultimately be in lower Delaware and in southeast Jersey along the shore, where 3-5 can be found. Anywhere else will only see a coating to an inch or so.

As it moves out to sea, the remainder of the day will be cloudy, with perhaps a few breaks of blue sky towards the evening. Temperatures stay cold through the end of the week, with generally dry conditions - an afternoon flurry is possible on Wednesday.

The next threat of wet weather comes late Sunday into Monday, which could come in the form of a wintry mix.

Looking ahead, high temperatures will move up into the 30s and 40s next week. But not before a few more days meddling below average in the 20s, further solidifying this abnormally cold February.
