Medical Examiner Testifies In 'Black Madam' Silicone Injection Trial

By Tony Hanson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- The Delaware County Medical Examiner has testified to the manner and cause of death of a London woman who died following black market butt enhancement injections in Philadelphia in 2011.

Dr. Fredric Hellman has testified that 20-year-old Claudia Aderotimi died from complications of silicone injections into her rear. He says the silicone migrated into her bloodstream, then into her lungs and brain, killing her. He says she suffered shortness of breath, chest pains, rapid heartbeat, and her condition quickly worsened. She died within hours of arriving at the hospital.

Hellman told the jury the manner of death was homicide.

The jury has also heard from a Texas supplier of silicone, Derek Crump. Crump testified his company sold industrial products including silicone -- not sterile or for medical use. He says the silicone his company sells is actually used for paste, auto wax, shampoos, as a lubricant, and by the military.

But authorities allege that Padge Victoria Windslowe purchased this silicone 18 times and put it into humans, harming some of them and leading to the death of one.
