Two Suspects In Custody After Police Standoff At Bucks County Gun Shop

LEVITTOWN, Pa. (CBS) -- Two people are in custody after a police standoff at a gun shop in Tullytown, Bucks County.

It all started around 2 a.m. Monday when police got a call for a burglar alarm from Mike's Guns and Sporting Goods store along Levittown Parkway. Police say when officers arrived, they found forced entry through the roof.

Negotiators were on scene trying to make contact with at least one man, but were getting no response. After more than six hours, SWAT teams found him in the ventilation area of a pizza shop that shares the building with the gun store.

He was arrested, and that's when police learned there was a second man still inside. That suspect was located about two hours later and was also taken into police custody.

A shelter in place order was issued to residents in the borough for much of the morning, but was lifted shortly after the first suspect was apprehended.

There were no shots fired and no injuries reported.

The standoff forced schools in the area to open late and closed at least one school for the day. The Pennsbury School District opened two hours late and A.M. Pre-K was cancelled. Saint Michael the Archangel Elementary School cancelled classes for students as a precaution.

Levittown Parkway was detoured between Route 13 and Mill Creek Parkway for most of the morning as a result of the standoff.
