A Cold Finish To February

By Justin Drabick

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Another arctic cold front moved through the Delaware Valley this morning keeping afternoon temperatures holding in the teens and 20s.

The core of the cold air will settle in tonight, bringing tonight's lows down to the single digits, possible challenging or breaking some record lows early Tuesday morning. Wind chill values will drop below zero late tonight and early Tuesday morning. There will be plenty of sunshine on Tuesday afternoon, but it won't help temperatures much, as they remain 20 degrees below average in the mid 20s.

Temperatures may briefly return above freezing on Wednesday ahead of another arctic cold front. Once again, the pattern repeats itself, with another surge of arctic air moving back in on Thursday and high temperatures 20 degrees below average in the mid 20s. Expect some more clouds around on Thursday as a storm system passes by to our south off the east coast.

We will be back in the sunshine on Friday, but temperatures stay well below average in the mid 30s. Temperatures will then slowly moderate back above freezing for the weekend with the chance of some rain Sunday night and Monday.
