Snow In Philadelphia Area Makes For A Difficult Morning Commute
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – With several inches of snow on the ground, it was a dicey morning for commuters.
Speed restrictions were in place on interstates and several other area routes overnight and into the morning commute. Those restrictions were lifted around 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, SEPTA was experiencing delays of up to 20 minutes on its Regional Rail lines, and CCT service was operating on delays of up to 60 minutes.
Bus 35 was suspended, and bus routes 18, 27, 38, 58, 103, 107, 115, 126, G, H and XH were placed on detour. Around 3 p.m., SEPTA announced service on the 35 bus had resumed. Weather-related detours remained in place on routes 18, G, H and XH.
Travelers were having difficulties, too. Philadelphia International Airport was on a ground stop earlier on Tuesday, but that was lifted around 8:30 a.m. Flights were delayed an average of about 40 minutes once the ground stop was lifted.
