Jury Selection Scheduled To Begin For 'Black Madam' Trial

By Tony Hanson

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Jury selection is scheduled to begin today for the 'Black Madam", Padge Victoria Windslowe, charged with murder caused by a black market buttocks enhancement injection.

Padge Victoria Windslowe allegedly injected low-grade silicone, and then finished the procedure with crazy glue to keep the silicone from leaking. Authorities say the low-grade silicone sealed into the body with crazy glue travelled into her bloodstream, killing her.

A witness and friend of the victim says 20-year-old Claudia Aderotimi was in distress within minutes. The witness says Aderotimi had trouble breathing and chest pains, and within hours was dead.

But Windslowe has pleaded not guilty. The defense has indicated she will testify at trial.

The defense also wanted to present testimony of satisfied customers to show there was no malice, that she believed what she was doing was safe. But the judge ruled it's not relevant to present testimony from someone who says they had the procedure and didn't get hurt.
