Family And Friends Vow To Continue Searching For Missing Mount Laurel Mother

By David Spunt

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. (CBS) -- Family and friends of a missing Mount Laurel mother say they will continue their search to find out what happened to her.

Family members tell Eyewitness News Erica Crippen, 26, was seen on December 30 at P.J. Welihan's in Cherry Hill with her husband Kyle Crosby.

Crosby, 28, was charged earlier this month with killing his wife. The two were married last year.

"I think he killed her," Crippen's sister Janiya Crippen says.

The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office is leading the investigation.

"Investigators continue to diligently search for Erica's remains," a spokesman with Burlington County told Eyewitness News.

Crosby's bail is set at $1.2 million, $1 million for murder and $200,000 for child endangerment. The two have an infant together and Erica has a seven-year-old daughter from a prior relationship.

"She's seven-years-old and she's asking for her mother every day and we can't give her answers. She's not a dumb child," Crippen said.

Officers with the Mount Laurel Police Department were sent to the couple's home on January 7th for a wellness check after the older child failed to report to school that week. Investigators said Crosby signed a missing person report that day indicating he had not seen his wife since New Year's Day.

Further investigation led to a charge against Crosby filed on January 10th for Endangering the Welfare of a Child due to the level of care he provided to the children in the absence of his wife.

Investigators say the existence of that charge allowed law enforcement officers to execute the traffic stop and detain Crosby.

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Erica Crippen is asked to call 911.
