PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police announced a suspect accused of attacking a 17-year-old girl on a SEPTA trolley has been arrested.
Authorities say 40-year-old Damon Oliver turned himself into police Wednesday morning.
Officials say around 7:47 a.m. on January 21, a teen girl was involved in a verbal altercation after she accidentally hit a man with her book bag while riding the Rt. 15 trolley.
During the altercation, police say the suspect punched the 17-year-old in the face, causing her a broken nose, swollen right eye and scratches to her face. She was treated at Jefferson Hospital and released.
Authorities say Oliver is charged with terroristic threats, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
Eyewitness News combed through Oliver’s criminal history and found page after page of run-ins with police. According to court documents, Oliver was arrested in 1994 for aggravated assault. He was later found guilty. He pleaded guilty to simple assault after a 2003 arrest. He also pleaded guilty to simple assault following a 2006 arrest.
