Winter Storm Impacts Some Businesses In Mercer County

By Cleve Bryan

TRENTON, NJ (CBS)– It wasn't the snow storm the experts predicted, but it still made a significant impact on some people in the Trenton region.

A state-wide travel ban began late Monday night and continued into Tuesday making the morning commute non-existent.

The snow tapered off shortly afternoon but the damage was already done for Columbus Pizza on South Warren Street.

"There ain't nobody here, state workers not here, ain't nobody here. Just a couple fire house orders and that's it," says owner Salvatore Mazzamuto.

Governor Christie sent state workers home when he declared a state of emergency before the storm and despite only a few inches of snow in Trenton those workers had Tuesday off.

Columbus Pizza which is only a block from the Statehouse usually gets 60-70 lunch customers but on Tuesday they had only three.

"We thought we were going to get two or three feet of snow, and nothing is going on," says Mazzamuto.
