Road Crews In Philly, NJ Ready As More Bad Weather Heads Our Way

By Dan Wing

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It looks like the recent string of snowstorms will continue Sunday night, as forecasters are calling for yet another one. As always, PennDot and NJDOT are ready for the worst.

Friday's late night snowfall made for some treacherous conditions, but by morning, most roads were clear as can be.. Crews on both sides of the river worked to keep roads ice-free overnight, and now they're resting up for whatever comes our way tonight.

Steve Schapiro with NJDOT says they're hoping to brine the roads ahead of the storm, and then get the plow trucks in position:

"So as soon as that precipitation starts they can get going, and start spreading and taking care of the roads."

Schapiro says the best plan is to stay at home if possible, but asks drivers who do have to head out to leave a little earlier than planned, leave extra distance from other vehicles and to just play it safe.
