Look Forward To Spring At Free Lecture On 'Perennials With Pizzazz'

By Phran Novelli

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - If you've already had enough of winter, here's a chance to look ahead to spring and all the pretty perennials you can soon be planting.

On Sunday, January 25th, you can enjoy a free lecture at Swarthmore College with renowed horticulturalist and plant grower, Tony Avent. An enthusiastic and highly entertaining author and plant explorer, he'll show and tell you all about some of the most stunning new perennial plants for 2015, as well as discuss many tried and true perennials to put on your planting list too.

If you look at other people's gardens and wonder how they know about such fascinating plants before you do, this is your chance to come find out for yourself!

Co-sponsored by the Scott Arboretum and the Hardy Plant Society this lecture's free and you're invited to stay for the reception with Tony Avent afterward.

No need to register. Just be at the Lang Performing Arts Center on the Swarthmore Campus, Sunday by 2 pm. Details at ScottArboretum.org.
