Cody Parkey Capping Off Impressive Rookie Year With Pro Bowl Nod

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Going into the season, kicker was a big question mark for the Eagles. Alex Henery was falling more and more out of favor with fans with each swing of his leg. Enter Cody Parkey.

Parkey was acquired just before the end of the preseason and was able to convince the coaches that he was the kicker the Eagles needed.

On Monday, it became official that Cody Parkey was going to be headed to the Pro Bowl to cap off an impressive first season in the NFL.

When the Patriots sealed their spot in the Super Bowl, that opened up a Pro Bowl spot because Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski would now be preparing for the big game.

Parkey is the first Eagles rookie to make a Pro Bowl team since 1988 when tight end Keith Jackson earned his way into the game.
