Quiet But Cool Weather Ahead

By Geoff Bansen

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - It's a quiet morning across the Delaware Valley.

There are lots of clouds around. The culprit? A stingy temperature inversion, preventing them from quickly burning off. They will, eventually, but it will take a little time. Some sunshine should begin to break out by the late morning or early afternoon. They say patience is a virtue, you know!

Temperatures will top out in the mid to upper 30s today, and then again on Friday. A weak front will move through tonight, but that won't inhibit the sunshine much on Friday. It will be a bright day, with a breeze to boot.

The weekend will be half and half; Saturday will be sunny but chilly, Sunday will be milder but with clouds and rain by the afternoon.

We could see some flakes Sunday night into very early Monday morning as that next system departs, but because of the warmer temperatures, this is generally a rain-maker.
