The Philadelphia Orchestra Is Looking To Revolutionize Your Concert Experience

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Philadelphia Orchestra is encouraging concertgoers to turn on their cell phones in an effort to help them learn a little more about what's going on.
Ramona Vosbikian with the Philadelphia Orchestra says the LiveNote app syncs your phone to the performance.
"What this will do in real time on your phone you will be able to understand what the music is about," said Vosbikian.
On Wednesday night the Orchestra played it's first concert using the Drexel University designed app, and a lot of folks using the app seemed to like it.
"The greatest thing is for those who are less knowledgeable like myself it's a way that I can really relate and engage to what's happening on stage," said one concertgoer.
Vosbikian says this is a new take on an old technology.
" I liken it in some ways to when you go to an opera and there is a libretto there so that you can understand. Of course there is no language in the music but there is an opportunity for you to understand what the composer is trying to get across," said Vosbikian.
