Philadelphia Writer Gets A New TV Show

By Justin Udo

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A Philadelphia writer's TV show is set to premiere on VH1.

As KYW's Justin Udo reports, her Center City roots helped mold the show's development.

Emily Fox's new show Hindsight follows a woman living in present time who is thrust back into 1995.

"It's about a girl who gets this second chance at living her life again. The fact that it was set in the 90's kinda grew up around that. It was sort of a treat to kind of go back to the music and the fashion and what life was like," Fox said.

Fox says a fun challenge of creating the show was taking into consideration that the 90's was a simpler time for technology.

"My main character Becca goes through extreme iPhone withdrawal. Like how do you function without it. You can't look anything up. You can't Wikipedia anything. You can't call anyone. You can't text anyone. You can't do anything."

Even though the show is set in New York and is shot in Atlanta, her Philadelphia upbringing really helped in the show's development.

"These characters had grown up in a city and were given that level of independence that really informs who they are. That was very much what our childhood was like in Philadelphia."
