Pennsylvania Man Jailed On Charges He Left 7-Month-Old To Drink
UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- A Pennsylvania man has been jailed on charges that he left his 7-month-old daughter at home alone while he went out to drink, then assaulted the girl's mother when she returned home from work early to find the girl alone.
The public defender for 21-year-old Brandon Russman did not immediately return a call Friday on the simple assault, harassment and child endangerment charges filed Tuesday by Uniontown police.
Police say Russman was supposed to babysit his daughter while his girlfriend was working the evening shift Monday, but instead went to a bar then a friend's house to drink. When the girl's mother returned and found the girl alone, she located and confronted Russman who, police say, knocked her down and choked her.
Russman remained in the Fayette County jail and faces a preliminary hearing Jan. 13.
