Bad Weather Delaying Philadelphia Flights

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Officials at Philadelphia International Airport say bad weather and low clouds are continuing to cause delays into and out of the airport — and the delays are spreading along the East coast.

Airport spokeswoman Mary Flannery says about half of the arrivals and departures are delayed, and the average delay is almost two hours — an hour and 50 minutes.

Flannery says ground delays as part of the government's air traffic management program are also occurring at airports in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts and Maryland.

She says officials expect the problems to continue through the night. And there will be more of the same tomorrow, with rain, fog and wind expected on Christmas Eve.
