Holiday Travel In Full Swing At Philadelphia International Airport

By Hadas Kuznits

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It's one of the busiest travel times of the year, as folks head home for the holidays.

Philadelphia International Airport was packed with travelers on Saturday, but despite the crowds and long lines, most had smiles on their faces as they prepared to reunite with their families for the holidays.

"I don't get home that much," said one woman, "so I always look forward to Christmas."

This man was on his way to Florida to visit his sister.

"I don't like to travel that much around the holidays because of all the fuss," he said, "but she made me an offer I couldn't refuse, she bought me a ticket. In exchange, I'm going to cook her Christmas dinner."

He said while train stations, bus stops and airports may be crowded this weekend, there are ways to make hectic holiday travel a little more pleasant.

"Everybody needs to be cheerful with everybody they meet," he said. "A lot of holiday stress, you could simplify it by just being a happy person. It doesn't cost a cent."

This woman had a long flight ahead of her. She was on her way to Russia.

Kuznits: "What are you most excited about?"

"That moment when I finally meet my parents to hug them," she said, "to say hello!"

Some families were already with the ones they love as they headed out for Christmas:

Kuznits: "Where are you headed to and who are you excited to see?"

"Disneyworld," said one man. "Mickey Mouse!"
